

About Jacqui Lawson.
Jacqueline Lawson (Jacqui) holds a master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of New England- Australia and an honours bachelor of science in Psychology from the University of South Africa. Jacqui is licensed counselling Psychologist, registered with the health and care professionals (HCPC) in the UK and holds membership with the British Psychological Society and the Australian Counselling Association. She is also qualified as EMDR Practioner, Neuro-Linguistic Programming practitioner, clinical hypnotherapist, and Time Line therapist with the American Board of Neuro-Linguistic Programming.
Experience
Over the past 20 years, Jacqui has gained extensive experience in diverse settings, including clinics, schools, and hospitals. She has provided support to clients of all ages, backgrounds, and nationalities, with a particular focus on working with neurodivergent individuals.​

Jacqui conducts assessments and provides counseling services online. She specializes in neurodevelopmental assessments (ADHD, Autism, and Specific Learning Difficulties) for adults and adolescents. Utilizing tools such as the WAIS-IV, MIGDAS, WISC-V, and WIAT-III, Jacqui recognizes the individuality of each client and their unique needs. Consequently, she tailors interventions to meet the specific requirements of each client, employing an integrative approach that incorporates elements of various modalities, including humanistic therapy, cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), psychodynamic therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and mindfulness.

In collaboration with her clients, Jacqui addresses a range of concerns, including ADHD, autism, anxiety, panic attacks, depression, trauma, anger management, relationships, grief, and learning difficulties. Jacqui believes in working holistically with clients to assist them in discovering their strengths and fostering self-acceptance.

Beyond assessment and counseling, Jacqui has provided staff training on various mental health topics and strategies for supporting neurodivergence in the workplace. Examples of training conducted include assessing ADHD in adults, anxiety and stress management, resilience, growth mindset, and post-traumatic growth, as well as improving executive functioning skills and understanding and managing behavioral, social, and emotional challenges. As a mother of two, Jacqui also enjoys delivering workshops to parents and teachers, such as teaching children coping skills, self-regulation strategies, and mindfulness.

Jacqui’s ultimate objective is to assist her clients in gaining insight and authenticity. She aims to equip them with practical and essential tools, empowering them to make informed choices and positive transformations.
